Spherical roller bearings have two rows of rollers, mainly take radial load, can also take axial load in any one direction. This kind of bearings have high radial load capacity, especially apply to the environments of heavy load or vibrate load, but they can't take axial load only.

Spherical roller bearings' outer raceway is spherical surface which contribute to aligning function, insensitive to misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing. When the shaft bent by the loads or mount different cardiac, they can also work. The self-alignment are different by the sizes and series. Spherical roller bearings usually allow aligning angle 1-1.2 degree.

Spherical roller bearings are designed to accommodate heavy radial loads, as well as heavy axial loads in both directions. Have good shocking resistance capacity. Generally Spherical roller bearings can allow low rotational speed. Usually use CA alloy brass car-type cage, Mb two-piece alloy brass car-type cage, CC two-piece steel cage. To use bearings with oil grooves and holes, it is recommended to provide an oil groove in the housing bore, since the depth of the groove in the bearing is limited. So it's more effective if design oil groove in inside diameters.
