Single row cylindrical roller bearings' roller and raceway are line contact. Bearings can accommodate heavy loads, radial loads mainly. Roller and ring rib has little friction, suitable for high speed rotation. Depending on the existence of ribs on their rings, cylindrical roller bearings are classified into NU, NJ, NUP, N, NF and other single row cylindrical roller bearings. They normally use car-type brass cage or steel cage. Also there are some polyamide cages type. Single row cylindrical roller bearings with cages can take heavy radial load, can be used in high acceleration, super high speed environments.

Shape Design

N--Outer ring without ribs, inner ring have ribs on both sides, allow axial displacement.

NU--Outer ring have ribs on both sides, inner ring without ribs. Allow axial displacement.

NJ--Outer ring have ribs on both sides, inner ring with one side rib, can take axial loads in one direction.

NF--Outer ring has one side rib, inner ring have ribs on both sides, can take axial loads in one direction.

NUP--Outer ring both sides have two ribs, inner ring one side has ribe(fixed) can take somewhat axial loads in two directions.

Cage Design

M--Combined alloy brass cages.

P--An injection moulded nylon window-type cage.

J--A pressed window-type cage of unhardened steel.
